🎯 Purpose and Principles

Équnité™ is an open-knowledge initiative for volleyball players, clubs and fans. This license preserves a freely accessible commons while enabling sustainable development and fair recognition for every contributor.

  • Safeguard contributor moral rights and proper credit.
  • Prevent retroactive enclosure or privatisation of shared materials.
  • Enable PLANIPIX to fund and steward the project transparently and ethically.

This license complements — it does not replace — the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Code of Conduct, and Moderation Guidelines.

📄 Contributor Licensing & Dual-License Grant

1. Public License

All user contributions (text, images, data, media) are released to the public under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0)  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/

2. Contributor Commercial Grant (Contributor License Agreement)

By submitting a contribution, you also grant PLANIPIX a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, adapt, translate, compile, sub-licence and monetise your contribution for commercial or non-commercial purposes connected with Équnité. This grant concerns economic rights only; your moral rights remain intact under French law.

This dual-licence model lets PLANIPIX provide value-added or paid access (e.g., a small fee for players who cannot yet contribute or use Équnité on the same level as other users) while the public retains CC BY-NC-SA freedoms.

Warning

This licence does not apply to public-domain material or content covered by legal exceptions.
No warranty is given; separate rights (privacy, publicity, defamation, database) may still apply.

👥 Contributor Rights, Credit and Conduct

  • Credit – All contributions are visibly attributed through edit histories, article footers, or contributor lists.
  • Moral rights – Authors retain moral right (paternity & integrity).
  • Code of Conduct – All participants must follow the Équnité Code of Conduct to ensure a respectful environment.
  • Merit-based advancement – Individuals who consistently make high‑quality contributions may be invited to take on editorial, moderation, or governance responsibilities.

🔒 Private & Restricted Areas

Certain materials (e.g., sensitive personal data, internal reports) are accessible only to authorised users and are not covered by the public CC licence.  Unauthorised access or redistribution results in immediate licence termination, permanent suspension, and—to the extent permitted by law—waiver of claims against PLANIPIX or the community.

💶 Commercial Use, Revenue and Transparency

  • Exclusive commercial rights – No third party may exploit Équnité content commercially without written consent from PLANIPIX.
  • Founder compensation – Platform revenues (donations, sponsorships, licensing fees, premium services) may pay operational costs and fair salaries, including remuneration for the founder-developer.
  • Reinvestment pledge – Profits are reinvested into Équnité’s mission; PLANIPIX will not sell the project in a way that compromises openness.
  • Financial transparency – PLANIPIX publishes an annual summary of community-sourced income and its allocation (infrastructure, development, outreach, salaries, etc.).
  • Liability disclaimer – The platform is provided “as is”.  To the maximum extent allowed by law, PLANIPIX disclaims liability for any loss or damage arising from use of Équnité or reliance on its content.

🔁 Upstream Sharing Requirement

Any Modified Material derived from Équnité content must be submitted back to the platform—via designated channels—within 30 days of public distribution.  This keeps improvements in the commons.

🏛️ Governance and Community Roadmap

Current phase : Founder stewardship

PLANIPIX retains decisive authority to protect coherence, mission and brand integrity.

Transition triggers

A Community Advisory Council will be convened once the community is large enough to sustain it.
Minimum conditions are:

  • ≥ 50 unique active contributors during any rolling 12-month period and
  • ≥ 5 willing volunteers ready to serve on the Council.

PLANIPIX may establish the Council earlier at its discretion.
If these thresholds are not met after two years, PLANIPIX will review annually and consult the community on alternative models.

Long-term vision

PLANIPIX will explore creating an independent non-profit foundation (or similar public-benefit entity) to hold key assets when scale and resources justify it. Any future governance change will be transparent and must uphold Équnité’s open mission.

Founder retain veto power against decisions that would privatise or derail the project.

🔄 Amendments

PLANIPIX may amend this licence for legal, technical or community reasons, provided no amendment reduces contributor freedoms or increases public-access restrictions. Substantive changes apply prospectively and are announced with a 30-day public comment period.

⚖️ Governing Law and Compliance

This licence is governed by French law and interpreted in conformity with applicable European Union regulations (including GDPR and the EU Database Directive).  Nothing herein overrides mandatory legal rights.

✅ Acceptance

By contributing to or using Équnité content, you accept and agree to this licence and the associated Platform Policies.
